So, we have 3 cats – Sushi, Smokee, and Buddy. And we live in a 600 sq. ft. duplex. Yes, a tiny space for 3 humans and 3 cats. We have a front yard and a backyard, with a nice little side yard. Nevertheless, we have 3 cats in a very small space.
Yet, it doesn’t even smell like we even have one cat!
Every time we have someone over, they’re surprised at how nice and clean our home smells. There is never any lingering cat scent of food or litter. Nor is there a lot of dander.
You’re probably wondering how? Let me tell you.
Constantly cleaning!
I’m a naturally clean person, so with 3 cats and a child, I’m constantly cleaning our home. I don’t use a ton of products to clean, neither! But here is what I do use:
Pine-Sol:
Seriously, this stuff cleans everything! I don’t like to use multiple products just to clean my bathroom, kitchen, and common areas. I prefer one thing to get everything done. It guarantees it’ll kill just about every piece of germ and yuckness. I love the pine scent! I’ve used Pine-Sol for years and I doubt I’ll ever stop.
Swiffer Sweeper Heavy-Duty for Pets
We have hardwood floors, so it’s imperative the floors stay clean all of the time. While Buddy and Sushi don’t shed very much, Smokee sheds a lot. So, we’re constantly cleaning up cat fur and what better way than to Swiffer it! It’s quick and easy, plus, it’s pretty fun!
Libman Broom and Dustpan Set
I’ll admit that while I love my Swiffer, sometimes it just can’t get everything. A good old-fashioned broom and dustpan usually does the trick! I highly recommend the Libman broom. I love the precision angle of it and it really gets all of the nooks and crannies!
Dr. Elsey’s Feline Ultra Premium Cat Litter
I’ll do another post on the best cat litter to buy, but so far this is a winner. We’ve tried different ones (after all, we do have 3 cats!) and this is so far a winner. It hardly has any dust and it clumps up very well. And it gets rid of any odors almost immediately as they appear. I highly recommend this litter!
Essential Oils
I use an oil diffuser every day and burn a variety of different oils. Sometimes, I keep it running all day (not supposed to do that, but I do), and sometimes only for a few minutes at a time. I don’t have any personal brands I like to recommend, but I am trying the Cliganic oil set. So far, so good!

Like, seriously, this is one of the best cat litter mats you can have! It tracks all of the excess litter and it’s super soft on a kitty’s paws. You won’t regret it!
